I know it's been a while since my last post but its been kinda hard getting back into the groove of things since our vacay to españa, and now with our thanksgiving plans soooo close at hand we can't seem to focus on anything else!
In case you are wondering what exactly we are doing for our thanksgiving here at La Pietra, instead of simply sticking around Florence and taking part in the NYU Thanksgiving dinner, we are travelling to London, England to do 3 things
1)Get demolished by the british pound
2) cook in a kitchen!
3) GO SEE KANYE WEST. Yes, this is a landmark in my life.
Anyway, to update you on the goings on here, it's absolutely freezing! I was not prepared for this weather. Almost every day I leave my room wearing knee-high wool socks, leggings, jeans on top of the leggings, a tank top, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt and coat and scarf! Thats like 4 outfits rolled into one!
Last weekend, it hailed and Kelly and I RAN outside (we forgot shoes even!) and marveled at its wonder. ***
I've been spending my weekends very relaxed, lounging around working on school stuff during the days and going on the town at night. Which is one of the two topics of this post! Last weekend was pretty crazy for us here in Room 113. We spent three nights straight downtown, and I learned my lesson. Only one night this weekend! We went to a one-week-belated Halloween Party, spent time in our favorite sketchy downtown piazza, checked out a lot of the nightspots and had a grand ol' time looking nice for once! Practicing our Italian with the boys we meet isn't bad either!
Secondly, today the girls and I took part in the annual Olive Harvesting here at La Pietra, It was just like being back at summer camp! And it inspired us to hang around the grounds more often, so many cool/creepy things to check out!
Well it's almost midnight here so must get to bed for class tomorrow at 9AM!
i foto!
Now out from the shade of night, we emerge to pick the fruit of the Earth.
